Have you been to Bursa? If you did, you probably visited one of its famous sights, the Green Tomb,  called as  the Yesil Turbe  (written as Yeşil Türbe in Turkish). This is a very interesting mausoleum. I was only wondering  why it is called Green Tomb when all you can see is blue from outside as well us most of its interior colors.

Bursa when is one of the cities we visited during our -days trip in Turkey last  2011. It was the capital of the Ottoman State between 1326 and 1365. The city was referred to as “Hüdavendigar” (meaning “God’s Gift”) during the Ottoman period.

There are a lot of sights to see in this city. One of it is the Green Tomb. It is a mausoleum of the fifth Ottoman Sultan, Mehmed I, in Bursa. It was built by Mehmed’s son and successor Murad II following the death of the sovereign in 1421.

We went inside the interior of this mausoleum. You can find amazing  architecture inside especially the tile arrangement  on the  walls. That was only a day-trip we had in Bursa but I am already happy with all the sights that I witnessed.

Tombs inside the Green Tomb or Yesil Turbe. I guess the big one is the tomb of  Mehmed I.
